Former executive chairman Peter Cowgill has reached a severance agreement with sports retail business JD Sports. He stepped down from the role in May and JD announced a successor, Andrew Higginson in July.

Mr Cowgill will receive several million pounds in salary and other benefits. He has agreed to act as a consultant to the group for the next two years.
