Asos leader joins Gymshark ahead of London launch
British activewear brand Gymshark has revealed that Mat Dunn will step into the role of chief financial officer at the company in early 2023.
A former member of fashion retailer Asos’ C-suite, Mr Dunn most recently served as both chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Asos, having also spent a period as interim chief executive following Nick Beighton’s departure last autumn.
At Gymshark, the senior executive will replace Philip Daw and report to founder and chief executive, Ben Francis, who returned to lead the company he founded in 2012 last August.
“Gymshark is a brand I’ve admired from afar for a long time," Mr Dunn commented. "As soon as I met Ben and the team, I felt the energy, ambition and belief that this is just the beginning for the brand."
Gymshark is set to open its first brick-and-mortar store, a flagship on London’s Regent Street, on October 29. The retail destination will include a “sweat room", where more than 30 bookable exercise classes will be scheduled every week, in addition to a Joe & The Juice concession.
