Adidas expects new chief executive in 2023

Mr Rørsted, who has been at the helm since 2016, will remain in place until the appointment of his successor.
Chairman of the supervisory board, Thomas Rabe, suggested it was now time to “pave the way for a restart" at the brand in the context of covid-19, its ongoing economic consequences and the effects of geopolitical tensions around the world.
For his part, Mr Rørsted commented: “The past years have been marked by several external factors that disrupted our business significantly. It required huge efforts to master these challenges. This is why enabling a restart in 2023 is the right thing to do, both for the company and me personally.”
The search for adidas’ next chief executive is now underway.
