Alternative raw materials go under new CQ umbrella at Covestro
Materials manufacturer Covestro has said it will offer all products with a minimum of 25% “alternative raw materials” in an effort to help customers increase their use of biomass, recyclates and green hydrogen in the materials they use.
It has developed a new label, CQ (which denotes ‘Circular Intelligence’) under which to group these alternative raw materials. It has said this will make it easy for customers to distinguish between products that are based on alternative raw materials and those based on fossil fuels. Where appropriate, it will add CQ to product names.
"We are continuing to work on making our vision of the circular economy a reality to help customers and partners achieve their sustainability and climate goals,” said Covestro’s chief commercial officer, Sucheta Govil.
