Growth for Titleist drives positive result for parent group, Fila
Sports group Fila achieved revenues of more than $2.4 billion in the first nine months of 2022, up by 13.3% year on year.
The Fila brand brought in more than $740 million in revenues over the nine-month period, an increase of 3.1%, but it was eclipsed by the performance of the group’s golf footwear and equipment brand Acushnet.
Revenues for Acushnet from January to September this year reached $1.8 billion, representing growth of 5.5%.
Acushnet said it had enjoyed growth of 8.4% in sales of golf balls under its Titleist brand, of 13.5% in sales of Titleist golf clubs and of 27% in sales of Titleist golf gear. But it reported a 4.5% decline for its FootJoy brand.
It said apparel sales for FootJoy had increased, but that a fall in footwear sales had brought about the 4.5% drop.
