China’s cotton yarn imports on track to be lowest in a decade
Imports of cotton yarn into China look likely to be lower this year that at any other time in the last decade.
Figures for the first nine months of this year, quoted by the South China Morning Post, show cotton yarn imports with a value of $2.8 billion, a decline of 33% year on year.
The newspaper said challenging trade relations with the US, restrictions in place to control covid-19 and a number of other supply chain disruption had limited production output.
