Climate goals confirmation for Vaude

13/12/2022

Outdoor brand Vaude has received approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its net-zero emissions target. SBTi has been in place since 2015 to help companies set targets that are in line with climate science and with the Paris Agreement goals (to limit the global temperature increase to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels by 2050).

Vaude said that it had been making all of its products through climate-neutral manufacturing processes since January 1, 2022. It added, though, that it was still achieving this milestone partly through offsets.

Chief executive, Antje von Dewitz, said that verification of Vaude’s targets by SBTi offered confirmation that what the company has set out to do is achievable.
