CEO says Covestro’s products are ‘part of the solution’
Polymer manufacturer Covestro has released preliminary full-year sales figures of just under €18 billion for 2022. It will confirm the figures in early March when it releases its annual report for last year.
In 2021, Covestro achieved sales revenues of €15.9 billion, which represented growth of nearly 50% compared to the previous year.
If accurate, the preliminary figure for 2022 would represent growth of 13.2%.
On announcing the preliminary results, chief executive, Dr Markus Steilemann, said business development last year had been impacted by the sharp rise in energy and raw material costs, high inflation and a weakening global economy.
He added: “Nevertheless, our products are part of the solution to the current crisis and essential for a sustainable and circular future.”
