Change of CEO at textile technology group
Textile machinery group Rieter has announced the departure of chief executive, Norbert Klapper. He had held the post for nine years.
His replacement is Thomas Oetterli, who joins the specialist developer of systems for manufacturing yarn from staple fibres, following more than 15 years at industrial group Schindler.
Mr Oetterli was chief executive of Schindler in Switzerland from 2006 to 2016 and then became group chief executive, holding the post until 2022.
Initial indications show sales revenues for Rieter of more than 1.5 billion Swiss francs in 2022, an increase of more than 50% year on year. The group said it had continued to invest in innovation and will present new solutions at the ITMA 2023 textile technology exhibition in Milan in June.
