As announced in the autumn, It’s Great Out There, the coalition that the European Outdoor Group set up in 2017 to encourage people to embrace outdoor lifestyles, has begun the new year with a new secretary general. Its former policy officer, Margo de Lange, became secretary general in January.

In her first public comments since taking the role, Ms de Lange said her aim was to help It’s Great Out There motivate and advocate more effectively, more inclusively and more widely than ever. 

She said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to work with the industry and community representatives and tap into a huge depth of experience and love for nature from all over Europe.”
