An apparel industry first for Freudenberg

Performance materials developer Freudenberg has claimed an apparel industry first by expanding its range of super-elastic interlinings to include products with 100% recycled thermoplastic elastomers as their base content.

It is offering these products in fabric weights of between 40 and 90 grammes per square-metre.

Freudenberg has said it envisages applications in lightweight knit fabrics for garments such as leggings and sports bras. But it added that elastic woven fabrics in medium-to-heavy weights for denim, maternity clothes or casual wear are also possible.

It added that the new interlinings offer “exceptional elasticity and retain excellent recovery capabilities”.
