Gold for ASICS app at iF Design Awards
Athletic footwear brand ASICS has won a prestigious award for Stepnote, a digital tool that projects the growth of children’s feet and suggests the best shoe size for parents to pick.
Hannover-based iF, which describes itself as the world’s oldest independent design organisation, runs the iF Design Awards every year. In the 2023 awards, it selected Stepnote as the winner of the gold award for communication in its apps and software category.
ASICS launched Stepnote at the end of 2021. It launched an update of the tool a year later and, on April 26 this year, it launched a partnership with Japanese football club Vissel Kobe to promote the service.
The panel of judges for the iF Design Awards described Stepnote as a thoughtful, well-executed, and user-centred design. It added: “By providing a reliable and customised online shopping experience for children’s shoes, ASICS solves a real-world problem for parents while enhancing the brand.”
