Cotton sustainability programme Better Cotton held its annual conference in Amsterdam on June 21 and 22.

More than 350 industry stakeholders from 38 countries took part, discussing four key themes: climate action, sustainable livelihoods, data and traceability, and regenerative agriculture.

At the end of the event, chief executive, Alan McClay, said delegates had heard from experts from all parts of the value chain. He said the discussions had reiterated “the urgent action required to tackle the worst effects of the climate crisis and to deliver profound impact at farm level”.

He said a regenerative approach can “push for social and environmental transformation”.
