Trimco turns to Raddis' regenerative cottons for trims

Indo-Dutch regenerative cotton organisation Raddis Cotton, which works directly with 18,000 smallholder farmers and their communities in southeast India, has joined hands with trims, labelling and supply chain traceability tools developer Trimco Group.
Trimco's means for its strategic investment to spur production of the rainfed, regenerative fibre over an extended period, an announcement said, citing findings from this year’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change as a key motivating factor. Its aim is to incorporate the fibres in the company's trims and fabric label ranges, which already include Repreve recycled polyester and seaweed-based yarn SeaCell, as well as flax, viscose and other cotton blends.
Group sustainability director, Camilla Mielde, commented: “This collaboration will enable us to take the next steps and go beyond the expected in our efforts to protect the environment by turning towards regenerative cotton, supporting both sustainable sources for the processing of cotton for trims, as well as contributing to improving the life of the farmers during this change.”
