Product development change at Carbitex
Carbon fibre composites developer Carbitex has announced that its founder, Junus Khan, is to take a step back, continuing as company president, but handing over responsibility for product development to Patrick Sinner.
Mr Khan has spent the last five years in Asia, working with partners to try to integrate Carbitex’s technology into commercial-ready products. He will now return to company headquarters in Kennewick, near Seattle.
The company is outsourcing its own manufacturing operations to Asia so that it can operate close to brand manufacturing centres, saying this will give increased efficiency, reduced lead times, and local support.
This will allow Carbitex’s US lab to dedicate its resources to engineering and innovation, bringing new technologies to market and providing support to brand partners.
Patrick Sinner joined Carbitex earlier this year and will be vice-president of brand product development. He was previously head of footwear at watersports brands Ronix Wake and Radar.
