Record quarter for Mizuno
Sports group Mizuno has reported record revenues for the first quarter of its current business year.
For the three-month period, April-June 2023, Mizuno achieved sales revenues of around $400 million, an increase of 23.8% year on year and a new first-quarter record for the company.
Sales in its home market, Japan, were up by 9.6%, reaching the equivalent of $230 million. It achieved high double-digit growth in other markets: 46.7% in the Americas, 51.3% in Europe and 50.9% in the rest of Asia and Oceania.
Footwear sales accounted for 31.5% of total revenues, with equipment bringing in 27.4%, and apparel 26.2%.
Mizuno reported growth of 46.3% for its footwear category, with growth of 13.3% for equipment and of 13.9% for apparel.
It said its main categories, baseball, golf and football, all performed well, but said it had also achieved important growth in its workwear category.
