South Korean sports textile developer acquired by Limonta
South Korean developer of textiles for sports apparel BATM has been acquired by Italian group Limonta. The purchase took place earlier in the summer, with Limonta acquiring 100% of the Korean company.
It said the deal would help it enhance the group’s offring and boost its presence in Asia.
BATM was founded in Seoul in 2003 and began to make an impression in international markets in 2008 when it started to attend industry events in Europe.
From now on, it will be known as Limonta BATM. Founder, Jonathan Yang, will retain the position of chief executive in the new set-up.
Group chief executive, Paolo Limonta, said he admired South Korean companies’ “tradition of textile innovation and high-quality industrial production”.
