Lineapelle showcase for Coats Footwear innovations

06/09/2023

The new, dedicated footwear division of thread and components manufacturing group Coats will exhibit at Lineapelle in Milan from September 19-21. It formally launched Coats Footwear in June following the group’s acquisition of two prominent footwear component technology providers, Texon and Rhenoflex.

Now operating as one global team,  offering more than 450 products, Coats Footwear will use the Milan event to showcase technologies that it says can enhance the design, comfort, performance and eco credentials of footwear.

Innovations under the spotlight at the event will include a new collaboration with a big brand name of the  patented ProWeave jacquard technology that Texon first brought to market in 2022.

It will also have a new two-layer, perforation-resistant textile insole for the safety shoe market. This product, Knox Plus Green, contains up to 55% recycled fibre. Another insole technology that will be on display in Milan is Ecostrobe, which the group has used a special fusion-bonding technique to create, without water or chemicals, is made with 100% recycled content.

Sales director for Europe for Coats Footwear, Matthias Oberfichtner, said in the build-up to the exhibition: “We are proud to come together as one global team to present our latest innovations at Lineapelle. All the products we are showcasing are designed to help the footwear industry deliver a more sustainable future.”

The innovations on show will also include Ecosole 60, moisture-resistant cellulose insole material, T438 Cotton, an anti-bacterial material made from 100% cotton, T437, and a natural fibre, elastomeric-bonded structural material, a washable cellulose upper material called Vogue.
