Former ice-skating champion becomes Decathlon’s chief digital officer
Sports retail group Decathlon has appointed Jimena Almendares as its new chief digital officer.
She joins Decathlon after holding the position of head of customer experience at technology group Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
Ms Almendares, who has more than 20 years’ management experience, said she was delighted to join Decathlon. She said she admired the group’s focus on people and its commitment to what she called “the democratisation of sport”.
Before developing her business career, Ms Almendares was also successful in sports. She was three times national ice-skating champion in her home country, Mexico.
