Ecco Labs makes its debut with Biom Infinite
An adjustable athletic shoe engineered to help navigate functional performance through daily wear marks Ecco Labs’ inaugural footwear launch.
Named the Biom Infinite after shoemaker Ecco’s original 2009 Biom shoe, the company’s Innovation Hub-led model’s customisable core components can all be tailored to suit individual requirements.
Technologies including 3D-printed silicone footbeds by in-house R&D project Quant-U, ultralight LYTR foam and direct-injection Fluidform soles, both produced by Ecco, all come together to facilitate “infinite possibilities” in a single model, as the group described it. Ecco subsidiary Epiko provided the tooling.
Byborre-supplied recycled knit uppers bonded with perforated leather linings from company tanneries round out the design, variously available in black, white and orange colourways.
In related news, former senior vice-president and general manager for Ecco Middle East and Africa, Deniz Erda, has been appointed interim president of Ecco USA in place of president and chief executive Tom Berry, effective immediately.
