Substantial new funding for Byborre
Amsterdam-based textile innovation brand Byborre has announced new funding of €16.9 million. This is follow-up investment from the €3.2 million it raised in 2020.
Venture capital firms led this new round of funding. Existing investors and a group of new angel investors also contributed.
Byborre said it would use the investment to accelerate international growth in key markets such as the US, the Nordics and Italy, to expand its network of industry partners and to develop further ideas such as its Byborre Create design tool and its Byborre Textiles materials resource.
It said its “rapidly growing clientbase of game-changing and upcoming brands and creators in fashion” can use these tools “to make positive change and increase sustainability”. Byborre said it wanted to establish a position as a leading platform for sustainable textiles.
It has invested in automation, material research and data analytics to increase efficiency, productivity and transparency throughout the textile supply chain and gives detailed insights into environmental impact and emissions reductions in a user-friendly way.
