Athletic footwear and apparel retail group JD Sports has completed its acquisition of Iberian Sports Retail Group (IRSG). 

JD Sports already owned more than 50% of IRSG when, earlier this year, it announced its intention to acquire the remaining shares. It has now taken 100% ownership of the group, which operates more than 460 stores across Europe.

IRSG is the operator of JD stores in Spain and Portugal, Sprinter in Spain, Sport Zone in Portugal and Aktiesport and Perry Sport in the Netherlands. It also has a 98% holding in online sports retailer Deporvillage and a 50.1% holding in fitness equipment business Bodytone.
