Bio-monoethylene glycol (BioMEG) producer UPM has selected Korean group Dongsung Chemical as sole distributor in South Korea of its new bio-based MEG. The product is a key ingredient for the production of more sustainable polyester.

This distribution agreement will strengthen the partnership between the two companies, which began last year.

UPM said the Korean market for MEG was two-thirds the size of the market across the whole of the European Union.
