South Korean textile industry seeks ESG roadmap
Several members of South Korea’s National Assembly joined the country’s Sustainable Fashion Initiative in Seoul on December 12 to discuss policy formation as its textile and fashion industries move to pursue a more sustainable future.

The group explored routeways to mapping a suitable environmental, social and governance (ESG) ecosystem in the context of Korea’s bid to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

Following a 14-member-strong working group meeting, experts presented on topics such as Korean ESG standards versus global certification programmes and approximately 100 representatives from the worlds of business, academia, the media and beyond all participated in a policy debate session.
