Second German Sustainability Award for Vaude
For the second time, outdoor brand Vaude has won the German Sustainability Award in the textile category.
This national awards programme ran for the sixteenth time this year; Vaude has described it as the most significant award in Europe for recognising companies’ ecological and social engagement.
Chief executive, Antje von Dewitz, said she was particularly pleased to receive this recognition, just as the company prepares to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary in 2024. She said: “The German Sustainability Award is an important validation of all that we have been pursuing at VAUDE for many years. It is a wonderful acknowledgment for our 50th anniversary.”
The company will receive the award at an official ceremony in Dusseldorf on November 23.
Vaude embarked on what it called its “sustainability transformation” in 2009. It earned recognition of the early fruits of this in 2015 when the German Sustainability Award programme named it as the country’s most sustainable brand.
