European textile project awards second round of grants
Twelve winning joint-projects in the second round of the EuroBoosTEX European partnership programme have been named.
This programme aims to help small and medium textile companies in Europe increase their digital skills and become more environmentally responsible. It made ten awards of €15,000 to individual companies in 2023.
Winners of the second round of grants will receive €30,000 each, or €60,000 per project.
Successful projects include the R-Sock, a Belgian-French idea for making sports socks more sustainable, the development of photocatalytic and decontaminating acrylic outdoor fabric by two Spanish companies, another Spanish project, PCW2Fashion, which aims to develop new yarns from post-consumer waste, and, in a similar vein, an Italian project for the automatic sorting of textile waste for recycling.
A number of companies from Portugal were also among the successful bidders.
