H&M group finds new leader in Daniel Ervér
Swedish clothing and footwear group H&M has named Daniel Ervér president and chief executive in place of Helena Helmersson, who has left the company after 26 years of service, the latter four spent as chief executive.
Mr Ervér took the helm on January 31.
He most recently led group flagship brand H&M, for which he retains responsibility.
“I am both honoured by and very happy about the board’s confidence and motivated and humbled by the task,” the appointee shared. “Together, we will continue to create unbeatable value for our customers and profitable growth.
"Our focus will be on offering our customers the best combination of fashion, quality, price and sustainability in an inspiring and attractive shopping environment.”
Ms Helmersson’s decision was a personal one, she said, but not easy.
“I am very proud of what we have achieved together through the pandemic and several geopolitical and macroeconomic challenges,” she explained, “however it has been very demanding at times for me personally”.
The departing chief executive cited the strength of the group's brands, its culture and “high ambitions in sustainability” as among the most important reasons for her continued faith in its onward trajectory.
Overall net sales at H&M rose by 6% year-on-year to roughly $22.8 billion for the 12 months ended last 30 November.
