Olympic optimism from Intersport
The chief executive of Intersport, Steve Evers, has said the sporting goods retail group expects “a dynamic and successful year ahead”.
He said the group will seek to capitalise on major events taking place in 2024, including the UEFA European Football Championship in Germany from June 14-July 14, and the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris from July 26-August 11.
One of the steps Intersport will take to make the most of these opportunities is to open a series of new stores in central Paris. Mr Evers said the group was “highly optimistic” about these projects.
Intersport achieved revenues of €13.7 billion in 2023, matching the record revenues it achieved the previous year. It ended the year with 5,381 stores in 42 countries across the world.
