New textile and apparel event to go ahead in Singapore
The inaugural Asia-Pacific Textile and Apparel Supply Chain Expo & Summit (APTEXPO) will go ahead in Singapore from November 13-15. is poised to be a catalyst to help the stakeholders thrive and overcome the challenges.
Co-organisers will be the textile division of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and local events group MP Singapore. The ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries (AFTEX), the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC), and the Singapore Fashion Council (SFC) will all support the event.
National textile industry bodies that have announced they will attend include Cambodia’s TAFTAC, API from Indonesia, ALGI from Laos, MTMA from Malaysia, MGMA from Myanmar, CONWEP from the Philippines, NFTTI from Thailand, and VITAS from Vietnam.
Organisers have said APTEXPO 2024 will serve as a global platform for industry leaders, stakeholders, and innovators, giving them an opportunity to convene, share best practice, and explore solutions “that will propel the region’s textile and apparel supply chain forward”.

AFTEX chairman, Albert Tan, said Singapore was “the perfect country” for the inaugural APTEXPO because it is “a gateway to Asia Pacific”.
For his part, CNTAC vice-president, Xu Yingxin, said: “APTEXPO 2024 will present unprecedented new opportunities for collaboration between our stakeholders in the region and globally. It will be a good platform to connect the textile and apparel manufacturing powerhouse of Asia Pacific to the global scene and a more efficient and secured supply chain.”
