Cambodia expects leap in footwear orders

29/11/2024

The Cambodia Confederation of Investors Association (CCIA) has said footwear exports could increase 20% to 30% next year, according to a report in local press.

Cambodia enjoys several free trade agreements and an established footwear manufacturing network. Brands are increasingly looking to diversify their supply chain and decrease reliance on China, particularly in light of tariffs and restrictions.

The country earned about $1.3 billion from shoe exports during the first 10 months of 2024.

Ly Khun Thai, chairman of the CCIA and of the Cambodia Footwear Association (CFA), said several factories have secured big orders from brands impressed by the quality of the shoes.

Cambodia operates around 155 footwear factories employing 156,000.
