Five new factories for Cambodia
The authorities in Cambodia have given the green light for five new textile and garment factories.
Four of the new facilities will be in the Kampong Speu province in the south-west of the Asian country; the fifth will be in the neighbouring province of Kandal. Four of the factories will be owned by Chinese companies.
Cambodia’s authorities have said this continued investment in its textiles sector is a reflection of the country’s stability and its large pool of affordable labour.
