Recycled polyester in new Freudenberg fabric collection

02/07/2024

Performance materials developer Freudenberg has launched a collection of recycled polyester shirt interlinings, calling the fabrics the RCY 99xx series and presenting it as “a sustainable counterpart” to its 95xx series, which it has made available to garment makers for more than 20 years.

Crafted from recycled polyester, the new fabrics can work with cotton, flannel, linen and blends of these fibres. They can work in jersey or stretch knit constructions. They can work in sports shirts, casual shirts, women’s blouses, polo shirts and even denim shirts.

The new fabrics have a weight range of 30-150 grammes per square-metre.
