Hemp is the highlight for Toyoshima
Japanese textile supplier Toyoshima began putting its spring-summer 2025 collection on display in Tokyo on July 16, continuing until August 2.
For this collection, the company said it wanted to showcase the appeal of hemp in particular, describing it as a natural fibre that makes comfortable clothing for the summer season.
It also emphasised the sustainability credentials of the fibre, pointing out that its requires less water and less treatment with pesticide than many other fibres. It has its own hemp brand, Grace Hemp.
In terms of performance, it said Gracehemp fabrics offer a crisp texture, a comfortable feel on the skin, natural moisture absorption, quick-drying properties and “a high-quality natural sheen that exudes luxury and sophistication”.
