Soles in sync for top three UTMB runners
Soling systems developer Vibram has said success at the 2024 Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) was the fruit of its commitment to innovation and to partnership with footwear brands.
The athletes who completed the men’s race in first, second and third place each had shoes from a different brand, but all of the shoes had Vibram soles.
Vincent Bouillard won the event, wearing a Tecton X 2.5 prototype shoe from Hoka. Baptiste Chassagne took second place, racing in Nike Kiger 10 shoes. The runner who secured third place was Joaquín López, who wore Kailas Fuga EX 330 footwear.
Vibram said its Megagrip technology was the preferred choice of elite trail runners. The company’s global general manager, Paolo Manuzzi, added: “Our commitment to sustainability, performance and relentless innovation has driven this success, showcasing our leadership in the industry.”
