Developer of water repellency technology Green Theme Technologies (GTT) has received a funding injection of $6 million. The investment in the company came in series C funding round, led by venture capital firms Pangaea Ventures and Cottonwood Technology Ventures.

GTT said the new funding will accelerate its “mission to transform the textile industry” with its PFAS- and water-free textile finishing platform, Empel. The $6 million will help it scale its technology and meet demand for more sustainable solutions in apparel and footwear.

Chief executive, Tom Lopez, said: “We are well positioned to accelerate our growth, advance our technologies, and drive meaningful change in the textile industry.”

A partner at Pangaea Ventures, Chris Erickson, commented: “Green Theme Technologies has developed a remarkable solution that meets an urgent need within the industry. We are proud to support a company pushing the boundaries of what is possible in sustainable manufacturing.”
