Li Ning takes over as official supplier for the Chinese Olympics

Starting this year and going to 2028, Li Ning has been named the official sportswear partner for the Chinese Olympic Committee and delegation. The brand founded in 1990 by the gymnast, himself a former Olympic champion, had been the supplier of the Chinese teams for four Olympiads, from 1992 to 2004.

“Our goal is to support the development of China’s sports industry and inspire more individuals to adopt an active lifestyle, experience the joy of sports, and share in the pride of China’s Olympic aspirations through our products and experiences,” commented Li Ning, chairman of the sports brand.

Li Ning won six medals at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, the first Olympics in which the People’s Republic of China participated, according to his Wikipedia entry. He won three gold medals (in floor exercise, pommel horse, and rings), two silver medals, and one bronze medal.
