Ten years of Fair Wear ‘Leader Status’ for Vaude

Multi-stakeholder group Fair Wear has given outdoor brand Vaude ‘Leader Status’ for its commitment to fair working conditions in its supply chain.

This is the tenth year in succession that Vaude has earned ‘Leader Status’, with the most recent award coming after an annual review that Fair Wear calls its brand performance check.

To achieve this status, companies must show strong commitment to upholding social standards in their supply chains and have effective systems in place to ensure compliance.

Vaude explained that it current works with mor than 40 production facilities worldwide. It said that 80% of those suppliers have been partners for more than five years and 40% for more than ten years.

The outdoor brand has been a member of Fair Wear since 2010. Chief executive, Antje von Dewitz, said in response to the achievement of earing ‘Leader Status’ for ten years in succession: “Despite the complex challenges in the supply chain and the difficult global economic and political climate, we have continued to make progress and achieve tangible improvements for local workers.”
