Biocircular fibres for new Head racket

Austria-based sports brand Head has launched a new tennis racket, the Boom Raw. It said the new product was part of its search for “a more sustainable future for racket sports”.

It uses carbon fibres from Toray that the manufacturer claims to be 100% biocircular, based on mass balance. It uses waste and residues of biological origin from agriculture, forestry and related industries that it says would, otherwise, have gone to landfill or be “otherwise taken out of the economy”.

Head said the new product offers the same feel and “explosive power” as previous versions of the Boom racket, but with a reduced environmental impact.
