Emissions targets announced by Chargeurs PCC

Fabrics, interlinings and clothing components producer Chargeurs PCC has announced a commitment to reduce its carbon emissions by 46% by 2030. It said it would take a series of concrete actions to meet the target.

Actions will include reductions in water and chemical use and in microplastic dispersion. It said it would also seek to put in place measures that will protect biodiversity and enhance corporate social responsibility.

Steps are already under way. At the company’s Lainie`re de Picardie site in northern France, operations have been restructured for greater efficiency, Chargeurs PCC said. This has included replacing steam systems with hot water, and installing advanced machinery.

Other recent innovations include 100% monomaterial polyester interlinings, enabling easier recycling, and an interlining range dyed without the use of water, which is already available in 19 colour variants in France.

Chief executive, Gianluca Tanzi, said: “We want to play a leading role in the sustainable transformation of the textile industry.”
