Cycling move from Decathlon
Sporting goods group Decathlon has announced it will take over sole ownership of the cycling company behind the Decathlon–AG2R La Mondiale team.
Decathlon–AG2R La Mondiale competes in the UCI WorldTeam road cycling competition. The company behind it is called France Cyclisme; insurance group AG2R La Mondiale has been the sole shareholder of France Cyclisme since 2022.
At the end of the current season, Decathlon will assume sole ownership of France Cyclisme. The sports retail group became AG2R La Mondiale’s partner in sponsoring the team in 2024.
Chief customer officer of Decathlon, Ce´line Del Genes, commented: “This is more than just a change to the company structure of France Cyclisme. Cycling holds, and has always held, a central role in the history of Decathlon. This move reflects a long-term, strategic ambition to deepen our involvement with the sport of cycling at the highest level.”
