Sports group Nike has created a chief operating officer position, announcing that Venkatesh Alagirisamy will take up the role on December 8. Until now, Mr Alagirisamy has been Nike’s chief supply chain officer.

In parallel, the group is eliminating the role of chief commercial officer. Craig Williams, who is currently in that role, will cease to be Nike’s chief commercial officer on December 5. He will leave the company in April.
