Nike has announced a series of leadership changes. CEO Elliott Hill said “having geography general managers at the table” is helping the company to “move faster”.

Nike’s vice-president of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Carl Grebert, is retiring and will be replaced by César Garcia.

Elliot paid tribute the the work Grebert has done since joining the company in 1997, calling him a “true legend”. “To say Carl is beloved is an understatement,” he said.

César started at Nike nearly 25 years ago as most recently helped integrate merchandising, sport priorities and analytics.

Angela Dong, who leads Greater China, is leaving the company at the end of March 31 and will be replaced by Cathy Sparks. “Cathy is a 25-year Nike veteran who began her journey as a store athlete at what was then Niketown Portland and went on to lead teams across every geography,” said Mr Hill.

Cristin Campbell, currently VP of Nike brand for Asia Pacific & Latin America, will serve as interim vice-president and join the senior leadership team.
