Home wins for New Balance
Athletic footwear and apparel group New Balance has said in a new report that its long-term commitment to making products in the US has been an important part of its success.
Chief executive, Joe Preston, said the company’s investment in expanding production in the US had been more than $150 million since 2021. It has two production facilities in Maine, two in Massachusetts and will open one in New Hampshire in early 2026.
New Balance has calculated its contribution to the US economy in 2024 at $3.1 billion, with its US manufacturing operations contributing $479 million of that.
It employs 5,000 people across all of its US operations, with 1,200 of them involved in making product on home soil.
