Cotton prices fall

05/12/2025

Cotton prices fell in November, reaching a low point of 74 cents per pound in the second half of the month, a level not seen since October 2020.

This is one of the headline findings of the most recent monthly report from industry resource Cotlook.
Its forecast for world raw cotton production for the 2025-2026 season reduced by 145,000 tonnes in November, principally as a result of lower figures for India, African countries and Turkey, which were partially offset by an addition for the US.

For consumption, its figure for the current campaign was down by 333,000 tonnes, reflecting declines in the prospects for several major destinations.

It estimates that output will exceed consumption by 526,000 in 2025-2026.
