Quality questions return for Lululemon over see-through garments
Lululemon has confirmed that it has paused online sales of leggings in a new collection called Get Low. It said the products would continue to be available in its stores in North America.
The reason the company gave for a temporary halt on sales on its e-commerce platforms was that it wanted to form a better understanding of some initial customer feedback.
Get Low leggings launched at the start of January. By the middle of the month, some buyers had complained that the leggings were see-through when wearers were squatting or bending.
Similar complaints have affected other Lululemon products in the recent past, including its Breezethrough collection in 2024.
According to the Wall Street Journal, business analysts said “repeated missteps” in its core category raised important questions about product quality at Lululemon. One analyst said that “technical superiority” had traditionally allowed the company to charge premium prices.
