Running, outdoor and training lift Intersport in 2025

Sporting goods retail group Intersport has reported revenues of €14.1 billion for 2025, up by 0.4% on the previous year.

The group, which has a network of 5,260 retail outlets in 40 countries, said it had had to navigate “significant currency fluctuations throughout the year”.

Running emerged as the top-performing category for the group in 2025. It said this rise to the top for running was supported by “numerous local community initiatives and strengthened strategic brand partnerships”.

Outdoor delivered “solid results”, the Bern-based group continued, supported by the performance of its private-label brand, McKinley, and targeted initiatives with key global outdoor brand partners. Training also performed well, driven by growing interest from younger consumers in this category.

Chief executive, Tom Foley, described 2025 as “a steady and constructive year” for the group.  He added: “We are excited to build on this momentum and continue empowering consumers to participate in sport on their own terms.”
