Clog will help Baffin’s bid for year-round relevance
Outdoor footwear brand Baffin has brought to market a product it calls a ‘recovery clog’.
The Ontario-based company has said the clog marks its entry into the recovery footwear market. It describes the product as having a “versatile, comfort-first design”.
It has a solid upper construction that uses water-resistant materials. Baffin said this, and the clog’s slip-on functionality, would make it an ideal choice for post-hike recovery in variable conditions.
The outsole is engineered “for supportive rebound and underfoot relief”, the company said. The shoe also has a multi-directional slip-resistant tread and a non-marking sole.
Marketing vice-president, Jessica Liut, said Baffin had applied decades of expertise in technical footwear to “the recovery space”. She said this launch is also part of a strategy to make Baffin a supplier of year-round performance footwear, taking it into the multi-season hiking category.
