Canada Goose divests Baffin
Canada Goose has announced it is selling Baffin, a Canadian performance footwear brand, to fellow Canadian company L.P. Royer, a work and military footwear specialist. The outdoor apparel group had acquired Baffin in 2018 as part of its strategy to develop footwear under its own label. Canada Goose’s footwear collection was launched in 2021. The category has since expanded from cold weather boots to a broad assortment of urban and outdoor hikers and sneakers.
“We’ve made meaningful progress evolving Canada Goose into a year-round lifestyle brand, and this gives us the opportunity to continue that momentum by simplifying our operating model and focusing resources on our highest-priority opportunities,” commented Dani Reiss, Canada Goose chairman and CEO.
Financial details of the transaction, which is expected to be finalised this month, have not been disclosed.
