A third factory in India for YKK

04/06/2026

Zip technology developer YKK has announced plans to construct a new factory in India. The new plant will be in Chennai.

This will be YKK’s third manufacturing site in India; it already has two in the state of Haryana.

The company described India as one of the world’s leading producers of textiles and apparel, and said it was growing rapidly.

It added that it will incorporate its most advanced technologies into the new Chennai factory to address what it called growing domestic demand and export-oriented manufacturing markets.

The new factory building will cover almost 75,000 square-metres. Construction will be complete in February 2028. YKK said its total investment in the project will reach $150 million.
