OCA celebrates 100,000 organic cotton farmers in 10 years
The Organic Cotton Accelerator (OCA) has celebrated its achievements over 10 years in its 2025 annual report.
OCA was founded by Laudes Foundation, H&M Group, Kering, Eileen Fisher, Textile Exchange, Tchibo, Inditex and C&A, with the first Farm Programme pilot in India connecting 1,800 farmers with four brands.
There are now more than 100,000 farmers in the programme, over €10 million in direct field investment, and 141,000 hectares under organic management.
Last year, it launched its updated 2030 Strategy and published its first regional Life Cycle Assessment study on organic cotton in India.
Bart Vollaard, executive director of the Organic Cotton Accelerator, said: “Ten years ago, OCA was founded on a clear idea: organic cotton only works if it works for farmers, and if the system around them supports that.
“As we share this annual report, we celebrate a decade of working together across the cotton sector. It is a moment to recognise how far we have come, and to look at what it will take to move further, faster.”
